October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Here’s how you can help

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual international campaign to help increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. Ranked as the number one cancer diagnosed in Hong Kong women, breast cancer has become a chronic illness, with more than 2,500 new cases diagnosed in the city every year. Today, it is imperative for women of all ages to be breast aware. As Cancer Fund Chairman Sally Lo says, ‘it really is as simple as getting to know the normal look and feel of your breasts, and seeing your doctor when something is wrong,’ stressing that early detection is the key to saving lives. This month, Hong Kong organisations and charities are clubbing together to help attract more awareness to Breast Cancer and help those that need information, support or guidance. There are many way we can all help and listed below are just some of the events that you can show your support at here in Hong Kong.
