Why leasing furniture can be a great option

7 March, 2023 by Expat Living 3 Min Read

https://expatliving.hk/reasons-to-consider-renting-furniture-in-hong-kong-indigo-living/

If you’re moving home and not so keen on committing to buying new big-ticket furniture items, why not rent them instead? As the team from Indigo Living Hong Kong explains, renting furniture gives you flexibility – just choose the pieces you want and how long you want them for – while also being an eco-friendly option.

What are some reasons people should consider renting furniture in Hong Kong?

Renting furniture is more cost-effective than renting a fully furnished serviced apartment – plus, it allows you to select a furniture style to suit your own personal taste. It’s also a hassle-free option when it comes to moving home or heading to another international posting. If you’re a property owner, it allows you to attract potential tenants and achieve a higher return by furnishing and styling your property with on-trend pieces.

Renting furniture is a hassle-free option and good for the planet!

Why is renting furniture a good option for the planet?

When you rent furniture, you’re helping protect the environment. There’s less waste, as the furniture is used again at the end of the lease period. That means fewer trees being felled and less soil being destroyed, creating safer habitats for plants and animals. Overall, by renting furniture you’re helping to save energy and reduce your carbon footprint.

How does leasing with Indigo work, in terms of choosing the items and getting them installed?

For long-term furniture rental (longer than a year), we offer brand new furniture. You can select from over 3,000 items in our Indigo Living home furnishing and accessory collections across our showrooms and our website, indigo-living.com.

Our rental consultants and design consultants can help to curate a custom package for you, including free design consultations and a site inspection to assist with space planning and styling, all while working within your budget. And it’s not only furniture that’s available, but also artwork, cushions, tableware and linen, lighting, window treatments and home appliances.

For short-term furniture rental services (leases of one to 12 months), we offer Indigo’s rental inventory that has previously been rented by other customers. Indigo’s quality control process helps ensure that every piece of furniture we deliver to you is in good condition.

With short-term rental, you only need to inform us of your delivery date five working days in advance, though obviously the earlier you book, the easier it is for us to find availability and reserve a date and time. Our team will move everything in and set it all up for you.

  2. Decide the leasing term
  3. Select the Indigo furniture items you want, or let their design consultants help

How many items do I need to include in a package?

You can rent individual pieces or whole packages to completely furnish your home; there’s no minimum monthly rental amount required. Aside from key pieces like beds, sofas and dining tables, you can also rent kitchenware, bed linen, electronics and more.

Can I buy pieces back at the end of the lease period? What else is notable about your furniture rental packages?

There’s a buy-back option available after completing 24 months of a rental package. For short-term furniture rental, buy-back is offered subject to approval.

New at Indigo Living Hong Kong

Newly available for short-term furniture rental clients is the Dean Collection. Inspired by Mid Century Modern furniture, this collection is a contemporary union of minimalist concave designs and meticulous woodwork. Each piece combines warm brown timber with metal details and feet, which gives the collection a distinctly elegant feel. It’s also available in black.
