Check out this staycation in Tai Hang

28 April, 2022 by Expat Living 3 Min Read

https://expatliving.hk/where-to-stay-in-hong-kong-little-tai-hang-hotel-serviced-apartments/

New to Hong Kong and looking for an idyllic accommodation retreat that’s still close to the buzz? Little Tai Hang Hotel & Serviced Apartments could be a perfect pick. It’s set in the tranquil village of Tai Hang, which is steeped in character and tradition, with Tin Hau MTR nearby and Causeway Bay just a stroll away.

Little Tai Hang is a genuine home away from home. You can expect clean, spacious modern living with all the creature comforts and a liberal sprinkling of well-thought-out ideas – not to mention breathtaking open views over Victoria Park and Hong Kong’s glorious harbour.

Little Tai Hang Hotel & Serviced Apartments

Features and facilities

The fundamentals are nicely taken care of with extremely comfortable beds and a beautifully spacious shower with luxuriously scented toiletries. The one-bedroom apartment we stayed in came with two wall-mounted televisions.

What really makes Little Tai Hang a gem is all the small details they’ve taken care of. There’s an elegant slim wine fridge, for one thing, plus a proper selection of international TV channels – including plenty of movies and the rarest of treats, live English Premier League football! There’s also an Apple TV in every room. The bathroom amenities are adorned with individual illustrations, right down to the toothbrush boxes, another nice little touch that adds to the very non-corporate, homely feel.

Some of Little Tai Hang’s apartments come with washer/dryers, otherwise you can use the in-house laundromat or take advantage of the laundry services. The Tiger’s Den fitness room has all the up-to-date gym equipment, and the Duck’s Lounge next door is a quiet haven for kicking back with a magazine and a soothing cup of tea. Residents can also enjoy discounts at the two bar restaurants below.

The neighbourhood

The village of Tai Hang is full of character – a hidden labyrinth of backstreet eateries and local watering holes. Japanese cuisine features prominently, and there’s a wonderful pan-Asian selection of Cantonese, Indian, Thai and Vietnamese. There’s also a very cute little pizzeria, perfect for a quiet night in with takeaway woodfired pizza and a bottle of wine from your in-room cooler.

Another huge plus about this convenient location is that the exciting nightlife of Causeway Bay and Wan Chai is right on your doorstep. Soho and Lan Kwai Fong are only a short cab ride away, too. So, you can truly enjoy the best of both worlds; all the energy of Hong Kong is right there before you, yet you’re also nicely tucked away in a quiet little corner.

For those looking to get active in the outdoors, Victoria Park is only a five-minute walk away. Or, for the more adventurous guests, there are paths leading up from the back of Little Tai Hang to the wonderful hiking trails that crisscross Mount Parker and Mount Butler. Stage 2 of the Wilson Trail offers the most spectacular panoramic views from the top; forested hills sloping down into reservoirs and little bays to the south, and the majestic harbour and mammoth backdrop of Kowloon peninsula to the north.

For long-term or short-term stays, big nights out or quiet nights in, the attention to detail, the elegance and comfort, and friendly and hospitable service, Little Tai Hang ticks all the right boxes.
