Getting party-ready for the holiday season

30 November, 2022 by Expat Living 2 Min Read

https://expatliving.hk/tips-party-ready-look-glow-spa-and-salon-hong-kong-hair-nails-beauty/

It’s party season and you’ll want to look fresh and fab for the festivities and photos. We asked the team at Glow Spa & Salon Hong Kong for some quick and simple ideas to make you feel your best and well put-together over the hectic festive period, from a simple hair cut and colour to skin, eye and nail treatments.

#1 HAIRCUT

Start at the top! A fresh cut is obviously key, though the team at Glow recommends sticking with subtle changes only at this time of year – no need for anything too dramatic at a time when smartphone cameras will be whipped out at every opportunity. Plus, it’s difficult to get another appointment at the salon if you decide you want to change the cut!

#2 COLOUR

A change of colour can be almost as good as a holiday, right? Like with the cut, Glow recommends going for something subtle. You might want to freshen things with some highlights or balayage, or, for darker tones, add texture with caramel and toffee colours. The salon’s stylists will take time to listen to what you want and discuss ideas. (Bring in a photo if you’ve seen something you really like.)

#3 NAILS

Don’t underestimate the importance of a good manicure or pedicure when it comes to looking well groomed! Glow has all kinds of options for nailing your nails, including a beautiful new range of colours for the Christmas season by Korean brand Mayour – it’s a beautiful palette, available in both matte and shiny varieties.

#4 EYES

They’re the focal point of our faces – and from an aesthetic viewpoint often the first spot to show signs of fatigue. Happily, getting an eye makeover is easy. If your lashes and brows are a little patchy, Glow offers a range of lash lifts and extensions, and brow-shaping procedures and tints. All of these can really help to frame and lift your face.

#5 SKIN

Facial treatments at Glow are individualised to your personal skincare needs, and they use an award-winning range of products and the latest technology, therapies and machines. Glow owner Sioban says, “For me, the most important aspect of my facials is hydration, which helps to reduce fine lines and visible signs of ageing.”

Glow can take care of all your needs for your upcoming Christmas get-together, New Year’s Eve party or Chinese New Year festivities, with hair, nails, makeup and more – and you can also save time by multitasking in the salon. So, get a mani-pedi while you wait for your highlights or smoothing treatment to develop. It’s the only type of multitasking you can do with a magazine in hand!

Glow Gifts

There’s a range of gifts for Christmas and beyond at Glow, including beautifully boxed gift cards, as well as various pamper packages featuring great haircare products and more. You can also treat your hubby or boyfriend with a gift card for a facial, mani-pedi or even a lash lift and tint. Sioban says the team is seeing more and more men coming in who enjoy getting groomed and looking sharp.

Bookings

Remember to book early – and keep in mind that rescheduling could be difficult, as slots will be at a premium. Also, avoid being a “no show” – spas and salons have done it tough for a few years, so they really appreciate clients keeping their appointments.

Glow Spa & Salon is at 8/F, Silver Fortune Plaza, 1 Wellington Street, Central, Hong Kong; for more information on their range of hair, nail and beauty services, call 2525 5198 or go to glowspa.hk.
