Spending more time inside is the perfect opportunity to hone your at-home bar skills! To get the ball rolling, weโ€™ve gathered a list of quality cocktail recipes from some of the top hotel bars in the world to add to your repertoire. You can now make your own happy hour!

An ode to Capella Singaporeโ€™s rich heritage,ย Bobโ€™s Old Fashioned is a rendition of the classic international cocktail, with hints of Asian spices, made with the Sentosa-based hotel’s exclusive Navegante Rum.

COCKTAIL RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • Navegante Rum
  • Sugar syrup
  • Angostura bitters
  • Homemade allspice dram (overproof rum, brown sugar, allspice berry, cinnamon)
  • Cigar tincture
  • Chocolate for serving

Directions:

  1. Place a large ice cube in an Old Fashioned glass.
  2. Combine rum, syrup, angostura bitters, allspice dram and cigar tincture.
  3. Garnish with orange twist and serve with chocolate.

 

Singita Sweni Lodge

COCKTAIL RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • 25ml of your favourite gin
  • 100ml fresh lemonade
  • 100ml tonic water
  • Ice cubes
  • ยฝ lime
  • ยฝ kiwifruit, chopped into chunks
  • 2 slices green apple
  • A sprig of mint

Directions:

  1. Pour all the ingredients into a mixing glass with ice cubes and stir well.
  2. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  3. Serve straight with a garnish of lime, and add the kiwi chunks, green apple and mint.
  4. Stir well and enjoy!

 

JING Bar at The Temple House

Incorporating iconic spicy Sichuan flavours into memorable tipples, JING Bar at The Temple House in Chengdu, China, has produced aย Sichuan Mule that sounds super refreshing, with plenty of citrus and fizz.

 

COCKTAIL RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • 45ml vodka infused with ginger and Sichuan pepper
  • Mint, 15 leaves
  • 5ml syrup
  • Lime wedges
  • Ginger beer, for topping

Directions:

  1. Fill a glass with crushed ice.
  2. Add infused vodka, syrup and juice of squeezed limes.
  3. Top with ginger beer, stir and add a mint stalk as garnish

Cafรฉ Gray Bar at The Upper House

Bring the flavours of Hong Kongโ€™s renowned Cafรฉ Gray Bar to your home with theย Upper Southside Cocktail. A rejuvenating concoction of Hendrickโ€™s Gin, fresh lime juice, mint leaves and cucumber chunks, this is an invigorating addition to your list of recipes.

COCKTAIL RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Hendrick’s gin
  • 20ml fresh lime juice
  • 20ml sugar syrup
  • Fresh cucumber chunks, 3-4 pieces
  • Fresh mint, 3-4 leaves

Directions:

  1. Place the mint and the cucumber chunks into a shaker.
  2. Add the syrup, lime juice and gin.
  3. Lightly smash the mint leaves and cucumber.
  4. Add ice and shake for 6 to 8 seconds.
  5. Double strain the liquid into a chilled Martini glass.
  6. Garnish with a cucumber slice.

UNION Bar at The Opposite House

Bejing hotel The Opposite House has a new destination bar in UNION, which draws its cocktail inspiration from ingredients and materials from the Silk Road, the ancient network of trade routes. Their Negroniย is a classic aperitif loved by all. Garnished with a slice of dry ginseng as opposed to the usual orange peel, the drink has a nice herbal flavour and a good balance between bitter and aromatic.

COCKTAIL RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • 30ml each of Citadelle gin, Campari andย Mancino Vermouth
  • Dry ginseng slice (suggested)

Directions:

  1. Simply stir the three ingredients together and garnish with the dry ginseng!

Sugar at EAST, Hong Kong

Sugarโ€™sย French Kiss cocktail is a refreshing tipple boasting floral notes that help to alleviate stress. The faint sweetness from the honey offers the perfect equilibrium to the sour characters of elderflower liqueur, making it a great โ€˜pick-me-upโ€™ on a warm day.

COCKTAIL RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Pisco
  • 20ml dry rosรฉ
  • 25ml elderflower liqueur
  • Orange peel
  • 1 tsp honey

Directions:

  1. Chill the martini glass and the mixing glass with ice.
  2. Drain out the water in the mixing glass.
  3. Add Pisco, Rosรฉ, Elderflower Liqueur and honey one by one into the mixing glass.
  4. Stir until cold and well mixed.
  5. Empty the martini glass.
  6. Use a strainer to pour the mix into the martini glass.
  7. Garnish with an orange peel.

The Fullerton Hotel Sydney

The Fullerton Hotel in Sydney has shared a recipe for its signature cocktail, the Sydney Sling. Sweet, but with a touch of spice, this cocktail is the ultimate happy hour drink. The Sydney Sling is a nod to The Fullerton Hotels and Resorts’ Singaporean roots and the signature Singapore Sling cocktail. It’s a local version of the Singaporean classic.

COCKTAIL RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • 45ml gin (The Fullerton Hotel Sydney uses Four Pillars 58.8 Gin)
  • 45ml blood orange juice (grapefruit juice is a great substitute)
  • 15ml hibiscus liqueur (elderflower liqueur is a great substitute)
  • 10ml ginger liqueur (or double up on ginger juice)
  • 25ml fresh lime juice
  • 10ml fresh ginger juice
  • 10ml Grenadine
  • 20ml sugar syrup (see recipe below)
  • Dehydrated ginger slice or any fruit of your choice, to garnish

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients and shake together vigorously for five seconds.
  2. Strain into your desired glass over ice and enjoy.
  3. For sugar syrup: Boil equal parts water and sugar in a saucepan and stir until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and allow to cool. (Can be stored for a few weeks in a firmly sealed bottle or container in the fridge.)

Easy Blueberry Oreo Cheesecake to start the weekend!
Serves 4, or 2 if you're hungry๐Ÿ˜‰

Preparation time: 15 mins Ingredients:
โ€ข 6 digestive biscuits
โ€ข 50g butter 
โ€ข 250g cream cheese (1 brick) 
โ€ข 6 Oreo biscuits
โ€ข 125g blueberries (1 box)
โ€ข 100g milk or whipped cream 
โ€ข 5 tablespoons sugar

Instructions:
For crust:
1. Crush digestive biscuits in a big bowl and add melted butter.
2. Press together at the base of the cake mould.
3. Set aside to cool.

For filling: 
1. Beat cream cheese, sugar and milk or whipped cream on medium speed in a bowl until it is smooth and creamy. 
2. Add crushed Oreos and beat until they mix evenly. 
3. Pour the filling over the cooled crust.
4. Freeze for two hours and top with blueberries!๐Ÿซ

Recipe: Flourless Pecan Cranberry Brownie

Ingredients

Brownie base:

2 servings of Nuzest Clean Lean Chocolate Protein
1.5 cup of pumpkin puree
1 cup of hazelnut butter or almond *
1/2 cup of raw dark cacao powder
1/2 cup of chopped pecans
1/3 cup of dehydrated cranberries
2 teaspoons of Manuka honey ** Optional
White chocolate drizzle:

1/3 cup of melted cacao butter
2 tablespoons of cashew nut butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1-2 teaspoons of Erythritol
Dark chocolate drizzle:

1/3 cup of melted cacao butter
2 tablespoons of cashew nut butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
3 tablespoons of raw dark cacao powder
1 teaspoon of Erythritol
Instructions

Brownie base:

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Grease a square baking tray with coconut oil and line tray with parchment paper.
In a large blender, mix all the brownie ingredients together until smooth.
Pour the brownie mix into the pan and bake in the oven for 20 minutes.
Once cooked, allow the brownies to cool on a rack.
Chocolate drizzle:

You will need two separate mixing bowls for the white and dark chocolate drizzle.
Melt the cacao butter at low temperature and mix with the rest of the ingredients.
Pour the chocolate drizzle over the cooled brownies.
Pop them in the fridge to set or enjoy them as warm brownies.**
Optional: Sprinkle some fresh pomegranate and dried cranberry seeds onto the brownies (after cooling in the fridge for 20 minutes).

Recipe: Persimmon Vanilla Chia Porridge

Serves 2

Ingredients

PERSIMMON-VANILLA-CHAI-PORRIDGE.jpg
Chia Vanilla Milky Layer:

1/2 cup of chia Seeds
1.5 cup of coconut milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 servings of Nuzest Clean Lean Protein Vanilla 
1 tablespoon of tahini paste
2 Medjool dates
2 slices of fresh persimmon
Persimmon Coconut Porridge Layer:

1 whole persimmon chopped
1/2 cup of coconut yoghurt
2 tablespoons of coconut flakes
1 teaspoon of almond butter
Instructions

Chia Vanilla Milky Layer:

Blend all the ingredients together apart from the chia seeds.
Once the mix is well blended, add the chia seeds and mix well. Place in a glass jar and leave overnight in the fridge.
Persimmon Coconut Porridge Layer:

Blend all the ingredients together until creamy and smooth. Place in a glass jar, leave overnight in the fridge.
The next morning you can enjoy your porridge by layering your chia porridge with the persimmon porridge.
Optional: Add in between crunchy texture by sprinkling some raw buckwheat groats already activated or quinoa puffs
