5 fab food finds in Hong Kong

16 November, 2022 by Expat Living 2 Min Read

Hong Kong is a foodie paradise – a city where noodle stands have been awarded Michelin stars. Once you’re settled, it’s time to explore some of the city’s impressive dining experiences. Here are five restaurants in Tsim Sha Tsui, Central and Causeway Bay not to be missed!

Harbourside Grill

Opened mid-2020, this sensational spot sits on the edge of iconic Victoria Harbour and offers unobstructed 180-degree city vistas. It makes the most of the awesome location too, with alfresco dining on an expansive terrace (don’t miss the creative cocktails for sundowners!). With experience in a three Michelin-star restaurant, Executive Chef Armand Sablon serves up a grill-centric menu of fine meats, delectable seafood dishes and more, all prepared with French finesse.

Monsoon

Newly opened Monsoon offers a modern expression of Southeast Asia’s best dishes courtesy of award winning chef Will Meyrick – “the street food chef with a global attitude”. The exotic interiors are reminiscent of the colonial architecture preserved across the region, while menu highlights include a great selection of curries, noodles, slow braised dishes and more, from fragrant massaman beef curry to Cambodian salmon amok. Free-flow drink packages are available, too.

Bombay Dreams

Authentic Indian food is one of the best-loved cuisines in the world, and Bombay Dreams is an institution in Hong Kong for the finest in Indian fare. Open since 2002, the restaurant serves up sumptuous dishes from South India and Goa in addition to the chef’s own North Indian specialities – plus, plenty of vegetarian options! There’s an international wine list and a great buffet lunch option, too.

Tango

Celebrating 10 years in Hong Kong in 2020, Tango Argentinian Steak House is a seductive, rustic rendition of an authentic Argentinian steak house, where stunning prime cuts of beef are sizzled to perfection over an open grill. Add the likes of ceviche and empanadas, and pair it all with fab Argentinian wines, and the result is a memorable dining experience with Latino passion and vibrancy, across two venues in Hong Kong.

ALTO Bar & Grill

This popular spot on the top floor of V Point Tower in Causeway Bay gives you the best breath-taking views of Hong Kong combined with flavoursome grilled delights with a modern twist – all in a stunning interior by acclaimed international designer Tom Dixon. We can’t go past the dry-aged beef dishes, which come char-grilled to perfection. Add the artisanal cocktails and a superb wine list, and you’re onto a winner!
