X marks the spot at Treasure Island Beach Club Restaurant and Bar! If you’re digging around for somewhere new to eat, this Hong Kong beach club puts you right on the sand of pretty Pui O on South Lantau.
The Treasure Island Beach Club story
The Treasure Island Group has been around since 1996, offering a range of camps and outdoor activities for kids and youths – from summer camps and surf schools to team-building sessions and more.
In 2018, the group opened a venue at Pui O beach, where it serves up a menu of timeless favourites, from burgers and fish and chips, to salads and sharing platters, along with tasty vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Then again, we probably don’t need to introduce it to too many of you, as the Treasure Island Beach Club won gold in our Readers’ Choice Awards 2024 for “Restaurant & Bar with the Best Views”. (We’re not surprised, with that panoramic ocean vista!)
In case you’ve not been, though – or you’re due a revisit – here are five things to keep an eye out for.
#1 Friday Specials
Head along on the first Friday of each month, and you can enjoy two hours of all-you-can eat wings and free-flow beers for $228 per person. Then, on the last Friday of each month, it’s two hours of all-you-can-eat tacos and margaritas for $348.
#2 Food Specials
Each month, Treasure Island features a Burger of the Month – at the time of writing it was a Spicy Italian Burger with Angus beef, spicy Italian sausage, melted smoked scamorza cheese, pesto mayo, lettuce and red pepper flakes on a toasted sesame bun! There are specials around the featured burger – and look out for a Wine of the Month too.
#3 Sundowners
With its southwesterly aspect, the Treasure Island Beach Club is blessed by some incredible sunsets – and they coincide not only with a special drinks’ selection, but also with live music or DJs playing eclectic sets ranging from Ibiza chill-out tracks to popular dance hits.
#4 Family Offerings
This isn’t just a kid-friendly venue, it’s also pet-friendly. So bring along your brood and your pooches too! There’s a special kids’ menu that should please the fussiest diner.
#5 Staycations
Don’t just stay for a meal – rent a beachfront cabana room for the night! These start at $500 for two people, or there’s a family and pet-friendly three-bedroom apartment for $1,700. Prefer something more rustic? Treasure Island also offers camping, including tents that they set up for you in their private campsite.
All the deets!
This Hong Kong beach club is located at Pui O Beach and open Fridays from noon to 10pm, Saturdays from 10am to 10pm, and Sundays and public holidays from 10am to 8pm.
