The VINO team works directly with small family-run vineyards in Italy, championing lesser known native Italian grapes such as verdicchio and grechetto, and introducing Hongkongers to what they call the “good stuff that rarely leaves Italy”. VINO wines are super small batch, with average production just five-to-ten-thousand bottles per year (small batch is normally anything under 60,000 bottles). They support small producers who prioritise eco-conscious farming practices; the wines are sustainably farmed and many are organic.
New releases for the Fair include Maltempo, a dry vibrant sparkling wine made with no added sugar, and with lively flavours of pear, lemon and apple; and Sparapani Brut Metodo Classico, made in the same way as champagne, dry with peach and citrus flavours and a nutty finish – a tasty drop for Christmas toasts!
