Get your glow on at Glow Spa

Hey there, hot stuff! It’s coming.. Summer is on its way! Use this time prep yourself with beauty treatments, find out where to go for spray tanning, waxing and hair removal services, great pedicures in Hong Kong, hair straightening and keratin treatments, and where to up your health and fitness quotient for warm days and summer fashion.

Gorgeously Glowing

If you’ve hidden yourself under winter layers for the last few months, chances are your limbs are still lily white. Prefer a healthy glow without the risk of sun damage? Then fake it till you make it, with self-tanning help from these salons:

Feel Good Factor – 2nd Floor, Winsome House, 73 Wyndham St., Central, 2530 0610, feelgoodfactor.com.hk

California Super Tan – 706, Workingview Commercial Building, 21 Yiu Wai St., Causeway Bay, 2573 0099

California Beach Club – 3/F Jade Centre, 98 Wellington Street, Central, 2851 3357

Smooth Sailing

Summer means weekend junks and days at the beach, but if you’re hairier than a monkey’s uncle, it’s time to shed the excess before you bare all. The city’s best waxing experiences are to be found at:

Strip Ministry of Waxing, 7/F, 8 Lyndhurst Terrace, Central, 2845 0838, strip.com.hk

Browhaus, 10/F, 8 Lyndhurst Terrace, Central, 2845 0886, browhaus.com.hk

Nu Waxing Workshop, 23/F, Hing Wai Building, 36 Queen’s Road, Central, 2869 9680, nuwaxingworkshop.com

Nude Beautique – 9/F, VC House, 4-6 On Lan St., Central, 2868-9100, nudewaxing.com.hk

Stepping Out

Whether you’re into fancy sandals or flip-flops, your feet are usually the first part of your body to step out into the sunlight. For toes that are dressed to impress, try a pedicure at these places:

The Nail Library – 6 Po Hing Fong, Sheung Wan, 2803 2290, info@thenaillibrary.com

The Oriental Spa – 15 Queen’s Road Central, 2132 0011

Blown Away

The humidity in this town can wreak havoc with even the straightest hair. For fuss-free locks that resist the frizz try a straightening treatment. Each of these places offers a range of different treatments and their experts can help you choose one that suits your hair type the best:

Strand and Science – DB North Plaza, Unit 17 1/F Block 2 Discovery Bay, Lantau, 2886 3820, strandandscience.com

Hollywood Hair – Parker House, 72 Queen’s Road Central, 2861 9830, hollywoodhair.com.hk

Paul Gerrard – 1/F & 2/F, Wah Hing House,
 35 Pottinger Street,
 Central, 2869 4408, paulgerrard.com

DAZ – 2/F Tung Chai Building, 86-90 Wellington St, Central, 2956 3668, dazhk.com

Flutter Those Lashes

Eyelash extension are all the rage in Asia, but get them done badly and you could end up looking more patchy than perfect. We’ve tried and tested one salon recently that we think you will love:

Cerynne – Central, Wellington Street, 60 Well On Commercial Building,10/F, 2336 6697

Best All Rounders

If you’re like me and you want to do everything in one place (and let’s be honest -traipsing about town in the heat defeats the purpose of a little pampering!) Check out these venues that offer all of the above under one roof:

The Oriental Spa (inside The Landmark Mandarin Oriental) – 15 Queen’s Road Central, 2132 0011

Glow Spa – 9F Parker House, 72 Queen’s Road Central, 2525 5198, cerisilk.com

5 steps for a stylish Christmas, courtesy of Hong Kong-based home furnishing retailer @indigo_living 🎄

#1 Decide on a Theme:
Every momentous Christmas feast begins with a stunning table-scape. Whether you’re going for the classic red and green pairing or a contemporary setting, pick a theme that you can go all out with!

#2 Organise Your Linen:
Generally speaking, a crisp white linen table-runner will do. But if you’re looking to up the ante this year, go for one with subtle prints on it.

#3 Choose a Centrepiece:
A beautiful Christmas centrepiece is the fastest way to add cheer to your party. It’s also a great excuse to show off your creative flair to friends and family.

#4 Invest in a Good Set of Tableware:
When it comes to tableware, most people play it safe with crystal glasses and porcelain plates. Why not take it up a notch by throwing a set of gold cutlery into the mix? It’s an instant pop of luxury that exudes warmth to traditional red and green themes. 🍴

#5 End with a Bang:
What’s a Christmas dinner without some good old-fashioned crackers? Sure to put a smile on anyone’s faces, they’ll also ensure your party goes out with a bang! 💫
