About SCMP Posties Camps
If you’re looking for a fun and educational summer activity for your child, SCMP Posties’ interactive camps are designed for kids who are curious about the world around them and eager to learn new skills.
Journalism-themed Camps
The journalism-themed camps, in particular, are a fabulous way for kids to learn about what reporters and news anchors do. In the “Create Your Own Posties” camp, for example, children aged from six to eight years get the chance to find out how a newspaper is produced; they’ll take on the role of a news reporter and learn to write their own stories and create their own Posties cover page.
In the “Becoming a News Anchor” camp, children from nine to 12 will learn news reporting skills and write a news anchor script – they’ll even get the chance to have their own news story recorded in the SCMP studio!
Both one-week camps are offered from 17 to 21 July, 24 to 28 July, 31 July to 4 August, and 7 to 11 August.
STEAM Camps and More
Posties offers a range of other camps, too, covering STEAM topics such as NFT, Roblox and website creation, plus a brand new camp that combines Scratch coding with storytelling. And the popular “Summer in the Wild” camp is three days and two nights of camping, hiking, canyoning, stand-up paddleboarding and wildlife spotting (divided into two age groups: six to nine, and 10 to 12).
