Our Top 5 Tables in Hong Kong last month

By: Sarah Richard

Hong Kong is a hub for foodies; restaurants are popping up faster than we can keep up with, and customers are still queuing at their doors. Here at Expat Living we have to admit we are serious munchers ourselves and spend most evenings frequenting one of the hundreds (millions?) of eatery’s around the city. So when we give you our recommendations you can trust you that we’ve only selected the best! Here’s our top 5 from last month.

Epure is a French fine dining restaurant in TST that offers dishes almost exclusively all from France. Their menu is impeccable, and all ingredients are fresh and delicious. Chef Nicolas Boutin’s passion for French food shines through in all his dishes, and each and every one is unique and absolutely delicious.

SAAM means ‪together and this is exactly what Chef Patrick Dang is doing with his latest menu! The flavours, ingredients and techniques, all from his culinary journey around the world are perfectly put together in each dish. His new winter Kaiseki inspired menu comes in 3, 6, 8 or 10 courses and is more than just a dinner- It is an experience.

Upper Modern Bistro

Upper Modern Bistro is all about the cheese! By far the best cheese boards we have tasted in town! Set on trendy Upper Station Street, it is hard to walk past without watching the chefs in the open kitchen cook, or admire the diners eating some of the finest French food. When we say all about the cheese, we obviously don’t mean thats all they serve. Try any dish with veal in it- it is cooked to absolute perfection.

My House

Newly opened in Wan Chai, My House has it all; restaurant, bar, music lounge and art space, all towering 26th floors above the neighbourhood. European food is served in large sharing portions, with classic flavours and creative twists. We love this place to relax after work, enjoy the views and the amazing desserts! (Must try: Passion Fruit Pie)

KOKO is a new Japanese inspired concept on Wyndham street, brought to you by Kee club, and in partnership with world-famous footballer, fashion icon and sake ambassador, Hidetoshi Nakata. They seem to have got all aspects of this new hideout spot on. Fresh tasty food, relaxed sophisticated atmosphere and some of the best sake pairings in town. With so many Japanese restaurants in the city, this one definitely comes out on top.
