Top websites for grocery deliveries

15 July, 2020 by Rebecca Simpson 4 Min Read

https://expatliving.hk/order-groceries-online-how-to-get-groceries-delivered-in-hong-kong/

While buying groceries online in Hong Kong may not be as straightforward as in other places, it’s definitely possible to shop for food and ingredients online and have them delivered – and it’s ideal for right now, with new coronavirus restrictions in place from Wednesday 15 July making in-restaurant dining a little trickier.

To get your grocery goodies, you may need to order from a few sources to get everything you require, but that can be part of the fun. Here, we round up some of our favourite resources for buying groceries online and organising fruit and veg delivery. That pantry will be full in no time!

Supermarkets for general grocery delivery in Hong Kong

You can order online from these retailers for dry (and sometimes fresh) ingredients as well as general household items, cleaning, personal hygiene, baby care and more.

NEW!
Marks & Spencer has started an online food delivery service through its M&S food app. There’s a range of 1,200 products available, with everything from easy weeknight dinner ingredients to fruit and vegetables, and even premium wines. Delivery is free for orders over $1,000. Find out more here.

Wellcome is a large supermarket chain with stores all over the city. It sells dry ingredients, locally and internationally sourced fruit and veggies, personal care and baby care items. Alcohol deliveries are available from this store too. wellcome.com.hk

ParknShop offers a similar range to Wellcome, but with some different international brands for certain items.  This brand also covers the Fusion and Taste brands you may have visited in person. Alcohol deliveries are available. parknshop.com

Marketplace by Jason’s is another chain supermarket option. Buy wine, international groceries, imported meats, beauty and personal care as well as car care from this international supermarket. marketplacebyjasons.com

CitySuper is a popular supermarket that offers everything from everyday essentials through to special occasion food and catering. The store even offers Christmas trees and other festive shopping items throughout the year. citysuper.com.hk/en

British Essentials is the official online retailer of Morrison’s own label groceries in Hong Kong. It’s great for homesick Brits or anyone who loves popular UK brands. britishessentials.hk

Live Zero is perfect for those who prefer pantry items that are zero waste.  livezero.hk

Slowood is a Kennedy Town favourite with everything you need to go zero waste. It even has a booze section! slowood.hk

iHerb is an online grocery retailer from the US – it doesn’t have a local Hong Kong store. The large range covers natural and organic food products, as well as health and baby items. Note: this is an international delivery site. hk.iherb.com

Meat and protein delivery

Farmer’s Market sells Australian meats direct from an Aussie farm to Hong Kong, great for everyday dinners and barbecues. It’ll deliver to your door. farmersmarket.com.hk

Jou Sun is a bit of a jack of all trades. Here, you’ll find meat from farmers and importers all over Hong Kong. It also includes veggies and household items such as sustainable cleaning products. jousun.com

Pacific Gourmet is a great instore experience but did you know they deliver too? This store specialises in fresh meat and fish from Australia, New Zealand and Norway. pacificgourmet.com.hk

Pacific Rich is good for seafood, especially if you’re looking for sustainable options. Browse online and you’ll see there are also non-seafood options that include cold meats and some pre-prepared meat items. pacificrichresources.com

Jett Foods: Online delivery of gourmet meat, fish, sausages and vegetables. Order up and they’ll waive the delivery charge. jettfoods.com

South Stream Market: This brand stocks a great range of fresh and frozen meat, seafood and other groceries. You’ll find everything from bread, dairy, baby food, gluten-free pantry items and eggs. It also has organic fruit and veg. southstreammarket.com

Feather & Bone: This butcher and delicatessen is hugely popular with expats because it offers premium meats, artisanal preserves and seasonal cheeses. With locations across Hong Kong, you can even pick up grab-and-go meals. featherandbone.com.hk

Fruit and veg grocery delivery in Hong Kong

Green Common holds a soft spot in the Hong Kong psyche. This is a brand with a mission: to empower the community with wholesome and sustainable plant-based choices. It has five shops across Hong Kong and an e-shop offering fruit and veg delivery. greencommon.com

Italian Plaza imports farm-fresh fruit and vegetables directly from Italy. Choose from a weekly selection of seasonal produce – highly recommended! italianplaza.com.hk

Jou Sun features local meats and veggies from farms in Hong Kong. jousun.com

South Stream Market: Best known for its meat but it also has nice organic fruit and veg. southstreammarket.com

Spicebox Organics offers a nice range of organic veggies and dry products as well as gluten-free items. spiceboxorganics.com

The Fresh Supply Company: This premium online grocer is offering top-quality imported and farm-fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as meat and seafood. All produce is sourced from international and local high-quality suppliers. thefreshsupplycompany.com
