Planning a kids’ party?

24 December, 2018 by Expat Living 4 Min Read

https://expatliving.hk/kids-party-decorations-party-venue-entertainment-hong-kong/

Your little person’s big day is in safe hands with these kids’ party professionals.

Do you have an upcoming celebration to plan for your child but don’t know where to start? Whether you need party decorations, a kid-friendly venue or entertainment for a kids birthday party, here are four of our favourite companies who will make sure your next soirée for small people is stress-free.

The Tepee Tribe

Tell us about The Tepee Tribe.

We provide themed sleepover tepee parties in the comfort of your own home. We bring all the ingredients for an amazing sleepover party; from the tepees to the bedding rolls, the beautiful accessories and the twinkle lights and bunting. We have several themes available for girls and boys with new themes being added regularly. Also, we do the setting up and we collect everything afterwards, with the aim of making busy parents’ lives that bit easier!

How much space do party hosts need to host a Tepee Tribe party?

We offer “solo” packages with one mattress per tepee, and “bestie” packages that are better for smaller spaces because the tepees include two bedding rolls each. We can set up anywhere inside your home that has the space, often a front room or a playroom.

What themes are popular at the moment?

Our latest theme, Mermaid, is attracting a lot of attention but Unicorn and Boho seem to be firm favourites!

What’s been the most memorable party you have been involved in to date?

All parties are memorable in their own way – it’s so lovely to see the joy and excitement on the children’s faces.

Rumple and friends

Tell us about Rumple and Friends.

Rumple and Friends provides unique, premium quality entertainment, with entertainers who work exclusively for us. We provide magic shows, themed party games and disco parties for children aged three and up. We have 13 unique characters perfect for any theme, along with a professional mobile disco setup that comes to your venue, and we run a two-hour long party full of games, dance routines and loads of fun props and costumes to use. We are also a professional theatre company with theatre shows for bigger parties, adult parties and corporate events.

Do people need a venue or can you assist with sourcing that as well?

We do offer a full event management service including venues, face painting, balloon twisting, catering options, sourcing decorations and bouncy castles.

What is popular at the moment for boys and girls when it comes to party themes?

Right now, there are a lot of superhero parties for both boys and girls. Our ever-popular characters are our very own Melody Mermaid, Yo-Yo the Unicorn, Astronauty the Astronaut and Pirate Pete!

Mopsamsterdam

Tell us about Mopsamsterdam.

We provide beauty services on location for birthday parties, such as face painting, unicorn glitter parties, glitter parties, spa parties, make-over parties and much more. The spa parties include mini manicures and mini pedicures, making them popular with teens and tweens. We also specialise in Halloween makeup for kids and adults. We can provide all our services at the party venue.

What themes are popular at the moment?

We’re currently getting a lot of unicorn glitter bookings!

What’s been the most memorable party you have been involved in to date?

Our glitter booth service at Clockenflap.

Can face paint irritate children’s skin?

All the products we use are safe for children and non-toxic. We only use professional products, which will last all day without cracking or fading, but remain soft on the skin.

What do you think is key to a successful party?

Have a theme – kids love themes! Even though they don’t always want to be face-painted in the theme, they feel like they are that character for that day.

Partytime

Tell us about Partytime.

We bring in the best party accessories, from tableware and balloons, to piñatas, decoration and more, to create your perfect bash. We have locations in Prince’s Building, Times Square, Repulse Bay, Discovery Bay and Festival Walk. We can also provide other services to help with your party, such as photographers and set-up.

What themes are popular for partyware?

For boys, we have a new wild animals range that has proven to be quite popular. For girls, unicorns are still the number one best-seller.

What are the must-have items for party decorations?

Balloons and a banner are an absolute must to help set the mood. It’s also nice to have a theme, with tableware and party favours to match this.

What works for parties for older children?

For older girls, we have a pretty mermaid iridescent range and a floral range. Boys seem to like our football and Minecraft ranges.

Tell us about your environmental policies?

We are very conscious of single-use plastic and are deliberately phasing out solid colour plastic tableware, replacing this with paper. We have also recently increased our range of reusable serving bowls and dishes.
