Shinta Mani Wild, CAMBODIA
Shinta Mani Wild is Cambodia’s newest luxury tented accommodation – and it’s set to be nothing short of awesome. Straddling Bokor and Kirirom National Parks, the resort is slated to feature 16 super-sophisticated and spacious tents perched over a flowing river, combining meticulous design with a Cambodian jungle safari. Guests can enjoy wildlife excursions and private boat expeditions, and get involved in conservation efforts. Perched on the edge of the sanctuary’s largest waterfall will be the Landing Zone Bar and Waterfall Restaurant, offering locally created dishes. Want more? A fabulous Boulders Spa, using chemical-free products, also awaits. Pure bliss!
Six Senses, FIJI
Enter a whole new paradise at Six Senses Fiji, which is located on private golden sands and offers 20 spacious villas and 60 luxury residences, all with private plunge pools. The property is set to include two restaurants, an outdoor pizzeria and grill, three bars, a gourmet food market and a walk-in wine cellar, all set amongst a tropical landscape. As always, the spa will play a big part and will not disappoint. Keeping up the luxurious standards, The Six Senses Spa Fiji comes with personalised wellness programs and pioneering treatments. For extra zen there’s also a treetop yoga platform, fitness gym, a recreation club with flood-lit tennis courts, and a kids’ centre, making it an easy contender for one of this year’s hot new hotels. Get there before everybody else!
COMO Echo Beach, BALI COMO
Echo Beach, on the south coast of Bali, is expected to be sleek, contemporary and secluded. With 53 rooms and suites, and 66 one-, two-, and three-bedroom private apartments including 12 penthouses with private pools, the resort will boast modern Asian architecture and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning ocean views. COMO Beach Club will serve renowned nutritious hand-picked cuisine, plus provide a spot for dancing under the stars. COMO’s legendary Shambhala Retreat will have a strong presence, as will the in-house surfing school for those keen to catch the waves.
Azerai, Can Tho, VIETNAM
Following the success of Azerai’s first property opening in Laos in 2017, Azerai Can Tho is a beautiful new 60-room hotel situated on an eight-hectare islet in the Hau River. Facilities include a comprehensive spa, international and local dining and a Junior Zone for younger guests. The rooms will be housed in 30 buildings, created using local materials, and emitting an easy-breezy feel with light and neutral décor. There’s also a seductive spa, swimming pool, tennis court, and a yoga, meditation and pilates studio. Guests can benefit from the peace and tranquillity of the location, and a plethora of available activities such as the floating market, bike rides, cruises and town tours. Guaranteed to be one of the hot new hotels in the region this year.
Rosewood Luang Prabang, LAOS
2018 sees the opening of Rosewood’s first luxury tent and villa encampment in the UNESCO heritage site of Luang Prabang, Laos. Immersed within a thick forested setting, including a meandering river and waterfall, there are 22 luxury tents and villas to choose from. The five 100-square-metre luxury tents will feature Laotian and French colonial furnishings, accents of locally inspired artwork, and their own private dining areas and wrap-around decks. The indulgent set-up will also include a bar and bistro serving French and Laotian cuisine. After a day exploring the local temples, cycling through the magical scenery and visiting the local villages, guests can kick back at the Rosewood spa.
