Island Dance offers ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) hip hop, tap, jazz, disco freestyle, Zumba and RAD ballet dance classes to everyone from children aged 18 months to pre-professional adult dancers, in over 17 venues across Hong Kong. The aim of the diverse and passionate team is to build confident dancers, provide performance opportunities and prepare students for a career in dance.
Managing Director Madhu Kashyap says, “We’ve been around for 25 years, but the average age of our teachers is 25. They’re all qualified and trained as teachers but were once young dancers themselves and they are passionate about sharing their love of dance, whether the student is a seasoned dancer or totally new to dance.” She adds that the classes are “a great way to make friends and build confidence all at once.”
Island Dance also provides workshops, parties, flash mobs and camps, and first-timers can attend a free trial class.
