Where to go for blonde highlights

18 August, 2020 by Rebecca Simpson 2 Min Read

https://expatliving.hk/where-to-go-for-blonde-highlights-in-hong-kong-indulgence-salon/

If I had a Hong Kong dollar for every social media post asking for a trustworthy blonde highlights or hair-lightening recommendation, I’d be a rich lady. Finding a stylist you can trust to go lighter in HK is a tough ask; finding a salon where that service is affordable is the holy grail.

The good news is that my experience at Indulgence salon in Central had plenty of highlights – including my new highlights!

Blonde highlights

Anya is the Senior Creative Stylist there, and she was able to gently persuade me to lighten my locks again; and I’m glad I surrendered to her recommendation. Anya oozes experience. She gave a solid colour recommendation, talking me through not only how the blonde highlights would work upon leaving the salon, but the long game of maintenance. A practical bonus were the day-to-day and girls’-night-out styling tips she shared, to help manage the never-ending battle with humidity. She also taught me a great trick for creating soft curls by wearing a top bun while doing makeup.

Indulgence is a nice space to retreat to from the bustle of Central. It’s a worthy alternative for those looking for a full salon experience and an international stylist, without the hefty financial burden other salons can impose.

Hot tip:

Time-starved ladies should enquire about dual treatments when they book. I saw a smart customer have a blow dry and her nails done at the same time – clever lady!

Indulgence is at 22/F, Silver Fortune Plaza, 1 Wellington Street Central. 2815 6600 | indulgence.hk
