Going fuzz-free the high-tech way

21 April, 2022 by Expat Living 2 Min Read

French medi-spa EstheClinic Hong Kong, which picked up a whole host of gold awards in our recent Expat Living Readers’ Awards, offers a full menu of effective, pain-free and zero-downtime aesthetic treatments. Among the most popular is IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) for permanent hair removal – we find out more about the treatment.

The treatment

EstheClinic’s Silky Smooth IPL Hair Removal treatment uses cutting-edge patented technology and is so painless that you can even sleep during session. (Don’t mind if we do!) It’s also twice as fast as traditional IPL systems, and clinically proven to remove 80 to 90 percent of hair in six to 10 sessions. Furthermore, it’s safe for all skin phototypes, with minimal risks even for the darkest skin tones.

The technology

The team utilises what’s known as MacPeel’s No Pain System (NPS), which combines high average power, low fluency and a high repetition rate, gradually raising the heat of the dermis to the temperature needed to effectively damage the hair follicle. This prevents regrowth while not injuring surrounding tissue.

The difference

Unlike the static nature of a traditional IPL system, which delivers intense pulsed light in one sudden zap, MacPeel’s No Pain System IPL treatment is more dynamic in nature. A hand piece is constantly swept across the skin, covering a larger surface area within a shorter amount of time.. For maximum comfort, this technology also includes an integrated contact cooling system.

The results

After the aforementioned six to ten sessions, you’ll only need two to three maintenance sessions per year for one or two years for finishing touches.

Unique benefits of EstheClinic’s NPS system

  1. Painless hair removal
  2. Effective on all skin types
  3. Safe and risk-free
  4. Ultra-fast
  5. Patented technology from France

Treatment details and a special offer:

Treatment time depends on the area covered; underarms take about 5 to 10 minutes, the bikini area 15 to 20 minutes, and the lower legs 20 to 30 minutes.

EstheClinic offers a free consultation with no obligation. While six to 10 sessions four to six weeks apart are recommended for optimum results depending on the targeted areas, if you’d just like to give it a try first, you can enjoy 50 percent off a trial session.

EstheClinic has two locations in Hong Kong:
