Luxury jewellery that oozes style

If you’re looking for a stylish gift in Hong Kong that won’t break the bank, One Bond Street’s luxury jewellery collection could be just the ticket! We met with the founders to find out more about their brand and products.

The story behind the brand

The lightbulb moment for Chris Harker and Angie Mack, owners of luxury gift and jewellery brand One Bond Street, came in Japan, when a valuable cufflink worked its way free from Chris’s shirt and was lost forever. It was then he realised there was a need to provide affordable cufflinks with a solid locking mechanism to reduce the likelihood of more precious pieces being lost.

Luxe links and more

In 2015, the pair really started to invest heavily in international growth. And it’s a move that has definitely paid off. “We now offer luxury sterling silver cufflinks, watch and cufflinks boxes, plus ladies’ silver jewellery, jewellery boxes and candles. Our cufflink collections have expanded from classics for the professionals, gem stones and racing for the expressive and stylish, to a heritage selection for discerning gentlemen.” All the jewellery is made of solid 925 silver, and the cufflinks are hallmarked in London. There’s an understated and straightforward aspect to the designs – “no frills”, you could call it – which Chris and Angie say is appreciated by buyers. Meanwhile, the jewellery boxes are all unique in their design and would clearly be a welcome addition to any home décor.

There are other enticing features to note, too: the brand’s gemstones all come with proof of authenticity; the open-cuff bangles are available for both men and women; and there’s a range of spherical candles that complements the other One Bond Street offerings in both design and finish.

Service with a difference

What, then, are some other hallmarks of Chris and Angie’s approach to the business? “Customer service,” they answer. “It’s at the core of our brand and our success – that’s why all inquiries receive a response from us within 24 hours. A happy customer is our ultimate goal!”

And it’s easy to see why customers would be happy. One Bond Street products are shipped and delivered globally in beautiful gift boxes and packaging, which includes the use of upcycled materials – something you don’t come across too often. (“We’re passionate about doing things differently.”) They offer limited editions, are willing to undertake bespoke corporate orders, and will do last-minute gift delivery service for corporates too. They also support various charities such as Mother’s Choice and Help for Heroes.

Turning heads

If you’re not sure where to start, Chris and Angie say there are several One Bond Street products that are particularly turning heads at the moment. “Our gem cufflinks are hot items, with emeralds, rubies and blue sapphires to choose from, as are our Roundel designs, which capture the spirit of the Spitfire. And our solid silver open-cuff bangles are perfect for gifts as the designs are classic and offer a certain degree of flexibility.”

They add that women are particularly loving the original designs of the brand’s jewellery boxes right now. “Our necklaces make for great gifts, too, and our candles have a truly original design with wonderful scents.” A bit of bling for everyone, it seems!.
