Bumps to Babes bills itself as a mother and baby superstore and you would be hard-pressed to debate that after a visit to their Horizon Plaza shop. You will find all the practical things you need during pregnancy, including a good range of maternity clothes. You can stock up on all the required items for the newborn phase, from bottles to baby baths, as well as nursery furniture, high chairs and prams. Pollux Books stocks a comprehensive range of English language children’s books – you will find plenty of classic favourites and educational books, along with some modern titles you might not have had a chance to source elsewhere in Hong Kong. But Pollux Books is more than just a bookstore. It has a big selection of jigsaws, including brands like Ravensburger and Crocodile Creek, plenty of games, craft kits and good quality toys. They also have a selection of items inspired by Disney characters.

If you have young children, you would be advised not to bring them furniture shopping at PAIDI as once they see the whimsical bedroom settings on offer you can bet they won’t let up until you place an order. A bedroom setting featuring a jungle theme with a bed on a raised platform with canopy and a curtained section underneath perfect for a cubby house is just one of the settings on display which would be any child’s dream. There’s something very reassuring about walking into mothercare, knowing its range of products will be of a standard you know and trust. The much-loved British parenting institution is one of the largest retailers of baby products in the world. It is no surprise it has a presence in Horizon Plaza, although its store is one of its smaller ones in Hong Kong. It stocks an array of its quality educational Early Learning Centre brand toys and clothing for babies and toddlers.

But once you wander in, you could spend hours in here browsing through their range of products for children. It really is a one-stop shop with plenty of toys including Lego, Barbie dolls and Disney merchandise. It also has a well-stocked section for children’s birthday party paraphernalia and a big range of books and DVDs. You will also find backpacks, bicycles and scooters.

The collection, which is aimed three to 10-year-olds, has become one of the most coveted for cool kids in Hong Kong.
