5 fashion tips for the festive season

14 December, 2021 by Expat Living 3 Min Read

https://expatliving.hk/5-fashion-tips-for-the-festive-season-from-stylish-sisters/

PAVLETA PETROVA of Stylish Sisters runs through her five top fashion tips for the festive season, whether you’re dressing for a Christmas lunch with the team, for an NYE or CNY party, or for date night.

#1 The Wonders of White

There’s nothing like an all-white ensemble for feeling irresistibly chic and sophisticated! Wearing white from top to bottom is an elevating experience, and the good news is that this season is packed with exciting options. Most stores in Hong Kong have a good range of clothes and accessories to choose from. From winter-approved pieces such as blazers, trench coats and knee-length cardigans, to trousers, midi dresses, chic blouses and bright white accessories, there’s something for every style, personality, body shape, lifestyle and budget.

#2 Go Bold with Gold

Go bold with yellow gold jewellery and accessories! Once considered dated, yellow gold is having a fashion moment that has lasted for a few years already. Whether you opt for minimalist meaningful golden jewellery, a bold vintage piece or custom jewellery will depend on your personal sense of style. If you look in the mirror and you’re thinking of removing a piece, think twice; in fact, you might need to add a piece, just for the fun of it! Be creative: mix, match and go bold.

#3 Green is Never Just Green

There are almost 300 shades of green and everyone has the one that fits their skin tone. You can go from olive green to deep forest, spruce and pine, which are always in style. Wearing the right colours can give you a radiant glow while the wrong colour palette can make your skin look sallow and tired. Choose wisely in terms of the colour you wear close to your face; if your skin has a cool undertone, then an earthy olive green might not be your best option.

#4 Wear Red Lipstick!

“Give a woman the right lipstick and she can conquer the world.” There is a certain amount of happiness we all feel when we get to paint our lips all sorts of red to bring out our classy and edgy look. The right red lipstick will illuminate your face and instantly make you feel good about yourself.

#5 Experiment with Your Hair

A new hair choice is an effortless way of not only expressing and identifying yourself but being a little playful and adventurous. It’s hard to think of something that can give a better mood boost than a visit to your trusted hair salon. So, look for some new hairstyle ideas online and speak to your stylist. After all, your hair is your crown!

Regardless of what you decide to do this festive season, be stylish and have a joyous time!
