Officially kicking off this weekend the Dragon Boat festival (Tuen Ng) is a highlight of the HK calendar. There’ll be races at various locations over the coming weeks, but the Sun Life Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships promise to be the biggest and best. With an amazing atmosphere in the centre of Stanley and free admission, this is a very popular event, so get there early!

24/6 – Happy Wednesday Summer Samba Splash
Rio Carnivale has come to Happy Valley! As well as the usual action on the track, there’ll be a Brazilian style party, with samba dancing, food, drinks and an exclusive performance by clothing shredder Adam Saks.

Until June 25 UNHCR 8th Refugee Film Festival
Featuring seven films that highlight the plight of refugees around the world, the 8 UNHCR film festival is showing from now until June 25 at Broadway Cinematheque. This year’s line-up includes The Good Lie (starring Reese Witherspoon), the Syrian drama Border, and a number of documentaries from around the world.
