Whether you’re an avid dinner party host looking to impress your guests with your culinary know-how in the kitchen, or a wannabe chef who just loves to cook, then the Intercontinental Hong Kong’s popular series of “Cooking with the Culinary Stars” cooking classes will be right up your alley.
The classes which run throughout the year are hosted by some of the best Michelin star chefs from the hotel’s famed restaurants, including SPOON by Alain Ducasse, Yan Toh Heen, THE STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill, and NOBU InterContinental Hong Kong. And the chefs aren’t the only stars – these restaurants have Michelin stars behind them too.
The classes teach you everything you need to know about cooking an exquisite meal, with entrees, mains and desserts on the culinary curriculum. The “Baking Club” features baking demonstrations on desserts and cake-making under the guidance of SPOON’s Pastry Chef Olivier Lannes and InterContinental Hong Kong’s Executive Pastry Chef Cyril Dupuis. Learn how to make sushi at NOBU, cook traditional dumplings at Yan Toh Heen, and pasta from scratch in the family class with Nicola Canuti.
All cooking classes take place on Saturdays from 10:30am-2:30pm, with the class / demonstration lasting 2-3 hours. Breakfast, lunch and beverages are included, and apart from a new set of culinary skills, participants will come away from the classes with an official certificate, an apron, and recipes from the chef.
