Enjoy a mother-daughter spa day

18 June, 2018 by Expat Living 2 Min Read

As any parent will tell you, a heightened interest in appearance comes with the territory of being a teenager. If you’re looking for a place to take your daughter (or son!), eco-spa Emmanuel F has an emphasis on organic treatments, which is reassuring for those who may be new to having facials. And they are offering some fantastic packages for mothers and daughters – and mothers and sons – if you’re in need of a treatment, too.

Emmanuel F spa consultant Francoise Mignon says that they only use 100 percent natural and high-level certified organic products from France. There are nourishing and purifying options available with their facials, depending on what clients want.

According to Francoise, the Sheung Wan eco-spa started offering treatments for teenagers in response to demand from clients. “Clients had been seeking a safe and reliable spa with pure ingredients for their teenagers – and we all know the struggle of good skin during that period of life.”

She adds that it’s important for teenagers going through puberty to get into good habits with diet and skincare, especially in a city like Hong Kong where pollution is an issue. “It’s always good to know what to choose and what to use from a young age,” she says. “We pride ourselves on attention to detail and the quality of ingredients that deliver best results.”

Emmanuel F offers special packages at certain times of the year – they recently offered them for Children’s Day in April and another for Mother’s Day in May. The Mother & Teen Spa Date is a signature facial and teen facial for HK$1,700 (originally HK$1,050 each). The Pamper With Mum package is a 60-minute full body Sensorial Getaway Massage for two for HK$1,500 (originally HK$830 each).

The Verdict

Our teen reviewer Keira (14) sampled the teen facial as part of a Mother & Daughter Spa Date.

“This was my first facial and I was doing it with my Mum, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect! The spa was very trendy and luxurious and everyone was so nice and friendly. After a long day at school I was feeling tired and a bit stressed, but when I lay down on the bed I felt instantly relaxed and safe, thanks to the dim lights and soft music. The facial started with my face being cleaned. The cream had a minty lemon smell, and felt so nice on my skin. My favourite part was when my therapist steamed my face – it felt like a deep clean that my skin had never had. I loved the feel and smell of all the creams. My facial lasted for 45 minutes, and at the end of it my face felt so clean, and I felt special and pampered. It was a really nice way to spend an afternoon out with my Mum.”
