Shopping and things to do in Repulse Bay

We recently shared with you some of our favourite places to eat and drink in the newly opened shopping centre in Repulse Bay, The Pulse, but there is plenty more to do than just that. Here’s the second instalment of our feature on the hottest new shopping centre to hit Hong Kong in a long while.

On top of everything else it has to offer, The Pulse has a large retail section. There are several floors of shops, which is fun if you feel like taking your coffee for a walk. You’ll find loads of children’s stores with plenty of toys, books, beautiful imported clothing brands (check out Juliet & The Band Shop 201D) and even a magician’s corner just next to Seed Heritage (Shop 201A&B)!

A few random stores are also dotted about the place, including a Tesla car showroom (Shop 203) and an Airplay blow-dry and nail bar (Shop 201H). There’s a fantastic sports store, Escapade, on the promenade level (Shop 110); it has everything you need for a family beach day, so don’t worry if you forgot your togs. Skin Laundry (Shop 205) is a cute, new mini-spa that has also opened its doors in Lane Crawford and IFC. And, if you need a last-minute gift, Tunique (Kiosk 2) is a gem of a jewellery store on the first floor.

Deep Water Bay Walk & Beach

Aside from the gym option (Pure South is at Shop B103, 111-112A), there is this nice walk that follows the shore from Repulse Bay around to Deep Water Bay to the west. It takes roughly 20 minutes and is a great way for the kids to burn off some excess energy – which is probably a very good idea before a long lunch! The beach itself is never really overcrowded and, with the weather on your side, it can be a surprisingly pleasant way to spend part of the day.
