This summer has seen a replenishment of new developments opening in prime locations across Hong Kong Island and Kowloon in the first-hand sale market, bringing exciting, positive and interesting transactions. Although developers would like to see more offers materialise, a large number have released brochures with the launch of new projects. Despite a number of units remaining unsold, the sentiment remains optimistic amongst developers who are hopeful of seeing the trend continue.



It’s exciting, too, to see a great rebound in the secondary market, perhaps due to the lower supply in the primary market. Record sale prices demonstrate a true upward swing in this market. The interest of buyers and investors has increased again and, hopefully, will continue to do so, which means the government is unlikely to consider removing cooling measures in near future. Most vendors are staying firm with their asking prices and are unlikely to bargain.
