One-stop shop for hair, skincare and beauty

29 April, 2022 by Expat Living 3 Min Read

https://expatliving.hk/one-stop-shop-for-hair-skincare-and-beauty-glow-salon/

Wouldn’t it be great to get all your hair and beauty treatments done in one place, instead of having to make separate trips? We know a hair and beauty salon in Hong Kong that allows for exactly that!

About Glow

Glow is among Hong Kong’s most highly regarded international hair, beauty and skincare salons, and you’ll see why after a visit. Aside from a genuinely customer-centric approach, the upmarket salon has an impressively full menu of offerings, based around three key pillars. Read on for the details…

# Hair

The first thing new arrivals to Hong Kong notice is that, seemingly overnight, frizzy, uncontrollable hair replaces their previously smooth, silky hair. Glow owner Sioban Guilfoyle is an expat herself and has a team from the UK, Australia, US and Hong Kong, who understand how humidity affects hair and have practical solutions at the ready.

The salon offers a wide range of hairstyling, colour, treatments and more for you to tame those tresses. It also caters to a diverse set of clients across a range of prices, depending on stylist; so you needn’t feel that it has to cost the earth to get your highlights done! In addition to highlights and smoothing treatments, Glow offers hair extensions (with four full-time technicians on staff), hair-loss solutions via their IAT-qualified trichologist, barber cuts, curly hair specialists and even an afro hair specialist (tough to find in HK!).

# Skin & Beauty

For its facials, Glow uses best-in-class product ranges including Environ, Skeyndor and CACI. Environ’s facials and peels combine decades of scientific research, effective formulations and innovative technology to help restore, revive and rehabilitate the skin’s overall health and wellbeing. Skeyndor has been made and developed in Spain for over 50 years, with a focus on products containing the highest quality, ethically sourced ingredients. And British favourite CACI is the UK’s number one provider of non-invasive microcurrent treatments.

To complement the range of facials, peels and eye treatments, you can visit the spa for beauty services such as waxing, brows, lashes and nails, along with full-body aromatherapy, lymphatic, and pre- and postnatal massages. The spa team all hold internationally recognised qualifications and are happy to make recommendations to address your skincare and beauty concerns.

# Aesthetics

Glow can help you tackle various aesthetic concerns through its affordable and effective treatments and therapies. These include Dermapen, Cryopen and laser hair removal.

The salon’s aestheticians were trained by Dermapen’s own Dr Andrew Christie in Dermapen 4 micro-needling to address ageing, acne scarring and pigmentation. Cryopen is new to Glow and is a cost-effective alternative to specialist treatment for skin tags, warts and pigmentation. Also popular is laser hair removal, with new machines offering the latest technology; Glow’s very experienced and qualified team all hold Cert 4 qualifications in light and laser therapies.

The Face of Glow

Relocating to Hong Kong in 2007, Sioban continued her career in retail and consumer banking , working with teams across Asia. In 2014, she established Lissome Hong Kong Limited to explore entrepreneurial opportunities. Identifying an underserved and largely ignored segment in the hair, skincare and beauty market, she purchased Glow in April 2015. The business has flourished ever since.
