Grab your handbags, girls, and mark 19 May in your diairies! The Kowloon Bazaar Summer Sparkles shopping fair is back – and it promises to be bigger, brighter and better than ever! An annual fixture on Kowloon’s calendar for a decade, organisers Print Plus are revamping the summer edition of the fair this year, with a brand-new venue at the Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui.
The fair is it’s the perfect place to add a bit of bling to your shopping experience and sample the wares of between 40 to 60 different vendors under one roof, with a wide range of gorgeous products from bespoke fine jewellery, fashion designer wear, wines, accessories, and more.
As regular attendees know, there is always a fun-filled atmosphere at the fair, which attracts 2000 to 3000 shoppers. Spend the day mingling with friends and enjoy lucky draws, quality food and beverages, wine tastings, freebies and testers.
Be sure to also keep Saturday, 2 September free for the flagship Glamfest fair at the Regal Kowloon Hotel. Products and services being exhibited this year range from authentic handicrafts, couture and designer wear, household items, lifestyle products and services, fashion accessories and gift items.
Founder and directors Deepa Nainani and Neerja Sujanani set up the Kowloon Bazaar events with an aim to provide a platform for vendors to showcase, market and sell their products and services to quality shoppers. The exhibitors comprise not only of unique local vendors, but also renowned international vendors.
There is one more plus when shopping at these fairs – the organisers believe in giving, so Summer Sparkles will host several charity booths where 100 per cent of the proceeds go to charity.
Here’s a sample of some of the vendors you can expect to find:
#1 Matthias Dathe – Fine Asian Jewellery
Matthias Dathe’s pieces focus on using original jade pieces, sourced during his global travels, and giving them new life by incorporating refreshing, modern and fashionable new elements while retaining the charm and mystique of fine Asian jade. Each piece is made by combining jade pieces with other materials, such as silver and leather, or transforming them completely into solid silver. His pieces are inspired by his passion and love for Chinese jade art crafts and the connection between Asian mythology and jewellery design.
Rougeoranges brings the style in you with their range of personalised & unique lifestyle products. You stand out with our product at affordable prices. Ranging from phone covers to clutches, they make perfect gifts which put a smile on every face.
#3 House of Fine Wines & Gourmet Food
It all started with some left-over wedding wine, which founder Sean Paul Carter re-sold online. Seven years later, Sean and his business partner Gregoir are importing more than 100,000 bottles of wine a year, as well as gourmet luxuries such as truffles, foie gras and saffron. Check out their stand at the fair to see their prolific wine and gourmet food catalogue.
#4 Party Sharty
Party Sharty is the brainchild of two Pakistani female entrepreneurs in Hong Kong, Ayesha and Pinky, who create and sell a colourful, beautiful, and highly stylish range of Pakistani ethnic dresses. In less than five years Party Sharty has developed a loyal fanbase with clientele across Hong Kong and beyond. They don’t have an outlet in Hong Kong, selling only by appointment or in select exhibitions, making the Kowloon Bazaar Summer Sparkles event a great opportunity to see their garments.
#5 Sadivas Jewels
Sadivas Jewels aims at stylish and sophisticated women who lead busy lives, whether it be through work or socially. As a consequence they need a collection of affordable pieces which will suit a variety of occasions. To see a selection of their pieces, head to their stand at the fair.
#6 Eternity Jewels
Customised and hand-crafted, these exquisite silver and semi-precious pieces of jewellery are well-suited to a stylish, modern woman of today. If you are looking for something that is economical, yet exclusive collection, then make sure you visit their stand at the fair.
