Want to create a designer look in your own home?

Setting up our homes to look like something out of the latest interior design magazine sounds like a great plan, but most of us have no idea where to start. Happily, there is the Insight School of Interior Design to set us on the right path!

Try a short interior design course

Insight School of Interior Design offers a range of courses to suit everyone from the curious amateur to the practising designer. Their one- and two-day short courses cover topics such as design and styling, small space design and feng shui. They are designed for those who have always had an interest or flair for design, and want to learn some new skills.

The eight-session introductory course gives students an overview of the basic principles and design processes. It can lead to the residential and commercial certificate and diploma courses, should the student wish to pursue interior design as a career.

Southside design lover Jodi Munro enrolled in the introductory course. She says, “I loved being around creative people and bouncing ideas around.” Jodi was inspired by the teachers, and gained a good understanding of the creative process and principles of design.

“Actively working towards a project for a ‘real-life’ client greatly added to the enjoyment of learning,” Jodi says. “I found myself mentally consumed by the process even during the days between the lessons.” Jodi is enjoying using her new skills to redecorate her current home. She hopes in the long term to design her own dream home one day.

To learn more about Insight School’s short courses, certificates and diploma, visit the website or drop in for a tour of the school.
