School holidays are an important time for children to rest and recharge – but that doesn’t mean the little people can’t have any fun. There is an abundance of holiday camps in Hong Kong for the kiddos to enjoy over the Christmas break. Here’s a selection.
Rumple and Friends
Children’s entertainers Rumple and Friends are providing budding performers aged three to seven years with the opportunity to put on a fantastic and hilarious Christmas play. Kids will get to perform as a variety of characters, such as elves, Snotty and Dotty, Jack Frost and Mr Scrooge in The Big Christmas Mix Up. Other children will involved the opportunity to learn about stagecraft through the costumes, props, music, lights, and set. The course covers drama, magic, musical theatre, puppetry and circus craft from 18 to 22 December.
English Schools Foundation
The English Schools Foundation draws on its considerable resources to offer a wide variety of camps to suit whatever your child’s interests are. Ranging from multi-sports camps to beginners coding classes to drama classes there is something for everyone. The Winter Sports Camps deliver a fun-filled week of multi sports activities, allowing participants to learn new sports skills or brush up on existing ones. Camps are based on age, with sessions for 2 to 4-year-olds and 5 to 10-year-olds. The Winter Language & Learning Camps are open to students from any school and include English and Spanish lessons, arts, maths and drama classes. Various dates and locations.
This is a perfect option for all those with budding Picassos or little drama queens on hand at home. Kids’ Gallery aims to create awareness and interest in the arts of children of all ages through a wide range of enrichment programs. They are offering Winter Workshops for three to eight-year-olds during the holidays. With a choice of locations and camps with themes such as Frozen Fever, Peppa Pig’s Winter Celebration, and Star Wars Snowtime, there really is bound to be something for everyone. From 18 December to 4 January.
Mandarin 4 Munchkins
Give your child the chance to brush up on their Mandarin in a relaxed and fun environment in a Mandarin 4 Munchkins Christmas camp. With locations in Central, and Discovery Bay, camp sizes are kept to four to eight children in size to guarantee your child gets an immersive experience. Camps include a half day option and a mini camp for two to four-year-olds. The Mandarin Chef camps are aimed at three to eight-year-olds and see participants whipping up a Mandarin meal while practising their language skills. Big kids aren’t being left out either over the holidays, with a Mandarin Christmas Camp for Teens. From 18 December to 5 January.
YWCA International Kids Clubs
The YWCA is another organisation offering multiple activity camps – particularly handy when you have a family of children with differing ages and interests. Their International Kids Clubs have an emphasis on international, multicultural and fun activities for two to 10-year-olds. Their holiday camps run from December 18 to 30 and include ice skating, calligraphy, art and soccer sessions.
First Code Academy
First Code Academy is dedicated to empowering children to learn to become creators with technology through teaching coding so kids are not just playing on their phones, they can actual program them! They have Christmas holiday camps for kids which will allow them to create their own game, mobile app, website and hardware projects. Courses are available for kids aged from four to 18 years. Camps are available between 18 December and 4 January.
Active Kids aims to provide fun and stimulating educational programs. They are holding a number of different school holiday camps catering for kids aged from three to 17 years. Camps include chess, cooking, arts and crafts, fashion design, and coding. Camps run from 18 December to 6 January.
