Despite the crazy year, Box of Hope is forging ahead with its annual campaign to provide useful, fun and educational gifts to tens of thousands of underprivileged children in Hong Kong and Asia each Christmas. However, pandemic restrictions have interfered with their plans, impacting what they can and cannot do.
Because of this, the Box of Hope team is asking that contributors – including any willing Expat Living readers – make donations rather than help to fill boxes directly. They’re trying to reach over 11,000 local children using current stock to create fantastic boxes packed with gifts and life’s essentials. Donations will help them to supplement these stocks, by purchasing extra goods such as hand sanitiser, masks, toys, stationery and so on, and distributing the boxes to those in need.
Donations can be made via PayPal or through the website at www.boxofhope.org. Last year, the team distributed well over 30,000 boxes to children; help them make Box of Hope a success in 2020 too!
