Le French May has brought us almost a whole month of wining, dining, shopping and a host of other cultural activities showcasing the best the French have to offer. If you haven’t had a chance to experience any of it yet, fear not, there’s still time!
With over 60 partner restaurants participating in Le French GourMay you’ll have ample opportunities to sample some amazing French cuisine this month. Here’s a snapshot of what some of these renowned restaurants are offering.
Restaurant Petrus – With some of the best views in the city, and HK’s only Master Sommelier, you can be certain of an exquisite fine dining experience at Restaurant Petrus. For the month of May they are offering a 6 or 8 course menu for $1588 or $1988 respectively, and a supplement of $888 gives you access to one of the most extensive wine lists in Asia.
Island Shangri La, Level 56 Pacific Place, Admiralty
Seasons by Olivier E – Helmed by Michelin Starred chef Olivier Elzer, seasons is famous for its fresh take on seasonal produce. Their Midi- Pyrenees inspired menu offers 4 courses using only the freshest French ingredients. Expect reinventions of regional classics and new combinations.
3/F Lee Gardens Two, 28 Yun Ping Rd, Causeway Bay
Amber – Chef Richard Ekkebus is synonymous with French cuisine in Hong Kong, and his contemporary take on dishes has won hime multiple awards, including two Michelin stars at Amber. For Le French Gourmet Chef Ekkebus has created an exclusive Platinum menu using seasonal ingredients, while sommelier John Chan pairs each dish with interesting wines from Midi-Pyrenees.
Landmark Mandarin Oriental, 15 Queens Rd, Central
Azure – Experience the best of the Midi-Pyrenees in Lan Kwai Fong. A great spot for people watching and creative cocktails, Azure is offering a 4-course French menu of regional specialities and wines from $618. 33 Wyndham St, Central
Cafe 103 – The Ritz Carlton is celebrating Le French Gourmay with a scrumptious dinner buffet featuring 10 dishes and wines from the Midi-Pyrenees region.
ICC, 1 Austin Rd West, Kowloon
Caprice Bar – Chef Fabrice Vulin has devoted this month to the cuisine and wines of the Midi-Pyrenees. Try the cassoulet for two, or Aubrac beef braised in Cahors, and pair it with some fine regional wines, followed by local cheeses from the Caprice cellar, for a meal to remember.
Four Seasons Hotel, 8 Finance St, Central
Angelina Parisian Tea room and restaurant – a Parisian icon, Angelina located in Lane Crawford at IFC, is a little slice of heaven. Enjoy the set lunch inspired by the Midi-Pyrenees for the month of May, and don’t forget to take home some of their famous hot chocolate.
Podium 3, IFC Mall
Cafe Causette – To celebrate Le French Gourmet Chef Marcus Chant has created a pop-up French bistro within the cafe itself. His special menu features delicious homemade comfort foods from Midi-Pyrenees. Mezzanine Floor, Mandarin Oriental, 5 Connaught Rd, Central
Pastis – a proper French bistro in the heart of Central offers an authentic French vibe for the month of May, with specialities from Midi-Pyrenees like veal kidneys, French sausage and white asparagus served alongside some outstanding hand-picked wines.
