One of the highlights of last year’s LFGM festival returns to Murray House at Stanley, this weekend (and it’s twice as big this year!) With fine French vendors selling the best of their wares, you could be forgiven for thinking you’ve accidentally stumbled into Toulouse. But non, mes amis the traditional French Market has come to town to give the lucky people of Hong Kong a taste of the produce and products of the Midi- Pyréneés region. From Foie Gras to Roquefort, to seafood and wine there is something to please every palate. So clear the pantry and head down to Stanley, for a grocery shop with a difference.
Here are some of the food vendors you’ll find:
Fico will surprise you with delicacies from Midi-Pyrénées: Foie Gras in a jar, Cassoulet with Duck Confit, Magret Seche (dry cured duck breast) and Duck Gizzards. Of course, the traditional cheese from the region as well: Bethmale , Bleu des Causses and Briquette de Rhobinol. Irresistible! )
Gourmet en Provence – brings the best gastronomy from Midi-Pyrénées: Truffles, Foie Gras and Duck Meat, Sausage from Toulouse, French Cheese, French Cazottes Bread, Alain Milliat Juices, Cold Cut, Côtes de Gascogne…you name it!
La Cabane – serving tasty delights like Duck Rillettes and/or ‘Fèves Fraîches’ served with crusty bread, Midi Pyrenees Cheese’s supplied by Alleosse, and a selection of charcuterie from Midi Pyrenees producer Farme de Saint Gery
M&C Asia will be selling fine imported French seafood
Monsieur Chatte – are offering a selection of dry, fresh and homemade products (Confit de Canard, selection of pâtés, jam, Bayonne ham, Madeleines, and Armagnac)
Stan Café – will be on hand to serve breads, pastries, charcuterie and more
Jean Vier – The French brand of kitchen and table linen (kitchen towels, hand towels, aprons, runners, tablecloths, and placemats) will be available at the market.
L’Ami Café – Tea, coffee and chocolate, plus a lovely selection of pots and caffetiere
Le Magasin – as well as a selection of wines, Le Magasin also stocks coated canvas tableclothes and napkins, cutlery from Thiers and Nontron, and soaps.
Le Magasin – regional wines from Cahors, Tariquet, Cotes De Gascogne and more
Henri France – will serve you the pride of Les Midi-Pyrénées : Armagnac, particularly Passion Fruit flavor, paired with some tasty food!
MBL – offers a selection of nice wines from Midi-Pyrénées by the glass: Malbec Rosé, Haute-Serre, Gros Manseng.
Mega Will Wine – Working with Livehouse Chef, Mega Will Wine will be offering Midi-Pyrénées specialties Sauteed Foie Gras with toast and Toulouse Pork Sausage, paired with two highlighted grapes Tannat and Gros Menseng.
