Global film making project during global pandemic
20 April - 8 June
Top Schools and Hong Kong-based film education company Babel Film Workshop have partnered on a global filmmaking initiative that enables students to document their lives during the ongoing pandemic. Students aged 13 to 18 can now sign up for a free online filmmaking workshop, creating a personal short film essay from home to be exhibited locally and internationally. Student films will address a number of issues, such as homeschooling, mental wellness, fitness, social isolation and the overall effects of the current situation.
The completed films of two to three minutes in length will be shared online as part of a visual showcase and selected entries will be exhibited at an international arts festival in the USA. In Hong Kong, Top Schools will run film screenings with participating international schools and hold topical discussions based on the films.
Registration is now open at filmstylo.com and the course can be started independently anytime until 8 May 2020. All films need to be completed by 8 June 2020.
