The Grounds: HK’s first ‘COVID-19 responsible’ entertainment destination
4 November, 2020 - 31 December, 2021
Opened in November 2020, The Grounds at AIA Vitality Park is an innovative new entertainment concept, developed specifically with the ‘new normal’ of socialising in mind. The first recreational space in Hong Kong that’s purpose-built for the era of COVID-19, The Grounds is aiming to become the city’s “ultimate socially distanced entertainment experience”.
Be entertained while being COVID-19 responsible
The key feature of The Grounds are the 100 socially distanced private pods, each with seating for four or two people. From within your particular pod, you can comfortably and safely enjoy a unique outdoor experience in the heart of the city. The wide range of cool activities and interactive programming available from November into December includes:
- a giant LED screen and state-of-the-art sound system;
- live music performances;
- wellness activities;
- stand-up comedy;
- an outdoor cinema; and
- family-friendly games.
Supporting Hong Kong’s hospitality industry
One of the aims of getting The Grounds off the ground, so to speak, is to help to bolster the local hospitality industry. Through partnerships with Hong Kong’s entertainment, wellness, culture and F&B sectors, the venue will provide a range of much-loved experiences that we’ve all been missing out on to a certain extent. This includes culinary offerings by Hong Kong’s best-loved restaurants; plus, Penfolds Max’s, the official wine partner of The Grounds, will offer its signature range of red and white wine to guests.
Adapting to the new normal of socialising
You’ll be happy to hear that health and wellbeing of guests and staff alike will be a priority at The Grounds. Stringent hygiene protocols and safety practices will be in place to ensure visitors feel safe at all times and in compliance with current government COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions. So, there will be temperature checks and mandatory face masks throughout the venue; also, expect pre-registration and health declarations, hand sanitiser at each entry and exit point, contactless ordering, socially distanced pods and extensive cleaning in between activity sessions.
