The 49th Hong Kong French Film Festival
25 November - 15 December
The Hong Kong French Film Festival is back in town, with an online format and in cinema. Organised by Alliance Française de Hong Kong with the support of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the 49th edition of the festival will run from 25 November to 15 December. A great selection of 40 films will be screened online and in cinemas, including award winning films, gala premieres, documentaries, thematic selections about war, and journalist and family-friendly films. To cope with the current situation, a selection of 14 films will be screened on the festival’s online streaming platform from 29 November to 13 December. French film lovers can enjoy French cinema anytime, and anywhere!
Commencing on 25 November, which is also International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, The Festival will open with the documentary Woman from Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Anastasia Mikova.
Alongside the screenings, there’ll be live Q&A sessions with French directors and a special events programme. There’ll also be a special Retrospective Programme of six films dedicated to actor Michel Piccoli, who passed away earlier this year.
