Verina Gfader – Wild Iconographies
5 December, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Wild Iconographies is an encounter with past magazine movements through the present environment in which images are produced and circulated. In the spirit of the visionaries who drove these movements, this talk will discuss how printed matter is imagined and realised as an agent for collective action, social thought, and “world imagining.” The evening is structured as a story with four episodes, wherein various image worlds unfold across the material and immaterial, in publication and exhibition-making contexts.
This talk is part of the public programmes leading up to the symposium It Begins with a Story: Artists, Writers, and Periodicals in Asia, organised by Asia Art Archive in collaboration with The University of Hong Kong, 11–13 January 2018. Verina Gfader will be an artist-in-residence with Asia Art Archive 3–10 December 2017. Verina Gfader is an artist and researcher who works at the intersection of performance, art direction, and publishing.
The event is free but registration is necessary.
