SCAD Hong Kong Presents an Artist Talk with José Parlá

Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Hong Kong is hosting an Artist Talk with internationally acclaimed artist José Parlá, and Dieter Buchhart, curator of Textures of Memory. Parlá, a SCAD alumni, is a multidisciplinary artist with extraordinary practices in painting, large-scale murals, photography, video, and sculpture.
Delving into Parlá’s upbringing and artistic practice, the talk will explore the important developments that have contributed to the artist’s distinctive career. Drawing from Textures of Memory, the major exhibition presented by Ben Brown Fine Arts and HOCA Foundation, the artist will explore three major topics: Time, Movement, and Texture. The new series of paintings and sculptures that have been inspired by the artist’s recurring visits to Hong Kong over the years, and his most representative works will be introduced during the event.
The talk will be followed by a special book signing of Textures of Memory, a new catalogue of José Parlá’s work, published specifically for the exhibition.
