Lamma Fun Day Beach Music Festival
7 December, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 11:00 pm
The Lamma Fun Day Beach Musical Festival returns to Hong Kong for its fifth edition. Enjoy a fun day out at Lamma’s Tai Wan To beach with activities for all the family. The lineup includes live music on two stages, market stalls, a licensed bar, delicious international food, bake sale, bric-a-brac, beach volleyball, yoga, kung fu, an eco-art exhibition, art workshops, a fitness challenge by Primal Fit, book signings by local authors and a live charity auction. There’ll also be heaps to entertain the kids, with music, art activities and face painting, plus races and games by Island Sports from 2pm. Don’t miss the entertaining Doctor Abra from Abracadabra Magic Theatre who will conjure up some magic moments for kids and adults on the Road Stage at 3:20pm.
Music on the Beach Stage kicks off early afternoon with ska rockers Transnoodle, followed by one of last year’s top Clockenflap choices indie-pop outfit Esimorp. Other acts include Naggin Eejits, Midlife Crisis Cowboys, DJ Star, Hong Kong’s own Pink Phloyd and many more. For those keen to party on, the music will continue into the late evening with the Open Space All Stars DJ after-party.
Reusing and recycling have always been strongly encouraged at Lamma Fun Day. Free water is available in giant carboys – so take along your own cups. All drinks at the bar are also discounted by HK$5 when you use your own cup. Volunteers from Lamma and Hong Kong help clean the beach and road before and after the event.
Lamma Fun Day has supported numerous CWS initiatives since 2000. The last four Lamma Fun Days have helped rebuild schools damaged by the 2015 earthquake and raised more than HK$800,000 for the Child Friendly Schools project and anti-trafficking initiatives. Proceeds of the 2019 event will go to supporting the FAB School for Hospitality.
Take a break, have some fun and help kids and young people in Nepal change their lives.
