Jonathan Thomson: Sculpture
24 August @ 11:00 am - 14 September @ 7:00 pm
Check out Jonathan Thomson’s third solo exhibition in Hong Kong, featuring the remarkable “Mother and Child” sculpture, standing at 2.3 meters and cast in aluminum. This piece beautifully encapsulates themes of maternity, care, and growth, illustrating a mother assisting her child, embodying both protection and independence.
The exhibition also tackles contemporary issues through unique artworks, including “Hermes and Hermione.” This work revisits ancient Greek ‘Herm’ sculptures, creating a dialogue about gender roles and identities by presenting both male and female forms.
Don’t miss Thomson’s “Ignudi Sculpture,” where he brings Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel figures into the three-dimensional world, capturing the dynamism and realism of the original masterpieces.
