Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation and Novartis See What Lies Beneath Pop-up Gallery
4 March - 9 March
Step into the shoes of survivors and learn more about breast cancer treatments this March.
Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation and Novartis will present “See What Lies Beneath” from 4-9 March at Tower 535 in Causeway Bay. The pop-up gallery will be open to the public, free of charge. The campaign aims to raise awareness of genetic testing for people diagnosed with advanced breast cancer.
Inspired by real life stories from physicians and breast cancer patients, powerful photographs that capture more than just the patient’s emotions and biology of the disease will be displayed throughout the gallery. Using special filters, visitors will find out that the photographs have been treated with a special double-overlay effect, and discover more information previously concealed to their naked eye.
“See What Lies Beneath” aims to show that just as no two people are alike, no two breast cancer journeys are the same. With advanced breast cancer, patients are often demoralised because there is no cure. However, by finding out their cancer subtype and undergo genetic testing, patients can obtain critical information that will help their doctors tailor treatment plans that offer better outcomes and quality of life.
This unique photo exhibition and its messages are brought to life through performances by rising actress, Sofiee Ng, and other talented models. In addition, visitors can also leave positive messages for breast cancer patients and their loved ones at the “Blessing Wall”, as well as take a photo at the photo booth, suited with the same double-overlay effect to take home as memorabilia.
