Hello Hong Kong Colours Plus – Kumiko Matsushima Exhibition

This exhibition showcases 28 photos, four paintings and two 3D pieces which represent how unique, lively, and beautiful Hong Kong is from the viewpoint of Japanese female artist and former freelance journalist Kumiko Matsushima.

The main exhibits include 22 small photos predominantly taken in Wan Chai and Causeway Bay during Kumiko’s stay in these areas for two months before moving to Singapore, having previously lived in Mid Levels for over 11 years. Finally exposed to the “real Hong Kong” at the end of her 12-year stay, she decided to take at least one photo a day and post it on Facebook and Instagram every day for 53 days. 22 of those 53 photos were chosen and shown in this exhibition. Six larger photos in the exhibition belong to another series, “Night City Series – Hong Kong” which used slow shutter speed and moving camera. Three acrylic paintings, one resin painting, and two 3D pieces, “Mysterious” are also shown.
