Design District Hong Kong (#ddHK)
3 April - 30 JuneFree
Design District Hong Kong (#ddHK) is a three-year Creative Tourism Project presented by the Tourism Commission and organised by Hong Kong Design Centre aimed at establishing Wan Chai and Sham Shui Po as Design Districts of Hong Kong. In collaboration with local creative forces and community groups, the project seeks to transform areas of public space into fun and interactive places that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and from all walks of life. It is the first project of its kind in Hong Kong rolling creative placemaking, tourism, heritage, innovation and culture into one to lead tourists and the general public to discover a different Hong Kong.
Some of the initiatives to date include “#ddDoodles” , “#ddSharing,” and “#ddSpecial”, an Augmented Reality digital art installation named “HKACT! Act 1 BeHere” available for the public and tourists to experience.
In partnership with One Bite Design Studio and HKwalls, six brand new thematic #ddPlace activations have now been realised, namely “#ddExperience”, “#ddGathering”, “#ddWalk”, “#ddSmile”, “#ddFresh” and “#ddPaintHKWALLS”.
