de Sarthe: Shifting Landscapes Exhibition
4 April, 2020 - 2 May, 2020
Shifting Landscapes presents the artworks of contemporary Hong Kong-based artist Andrew Luk and post-war master Chu Teh-Chun. The works were originally intended for the cancelled Art Basel Hong Kong 2020 and have been reconsidered for the gallery space at de Sarthe.
The exhibition includes Andrew Luk’s large-scale installation “Haunted, Salvaged”, a giant suspended mobile with disfigured orb-like objects hanging from steel branches that stretch outwards above a sea of sculptures. Chu Teh-Chun’s works feature broad expressive brush strokes depicting unexplored landscapes through Chinese painting and calligraphy.
