Cathay Pacific HSBC Hong Kong Sevens

Organised by the Hong Kong Rugby Union, some 120,000 tourists from around the world descend on Hong Kong to catch the action at the Cathay Pacific HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, considered to be the premier tournament in the World Rugby Sevens Series. The three-day tournament takes place at Hong Kong Stadium at Causeway Bay, and features top teams playing lightning-fast 15-minute matches. Tickets are hard to come by due to demand, but a party atmosphere permeates the whole city, so you can still be part of the fun at one of the many satellite events. A definite highlight on the city’s sporting calendar.
Away from the stadium there are heaps of satellite events and live sites around the city. Situated opposite the Sevens stadium, the Sevens Village is a hub for anyone without tickets who wants to be close to the action. Entry is free and tournaments are live streamed onto giant screens. Families are welcomed with plenty of activities for the kids, including interactive rugby, golf and tennis zones, arts workshops and face painting. There are also food stands and you can even expect some rugby legends to drop in from time to time.There are also a number of bars and restaurants offering special deals as part of the festive spirit across Hong Kong.
