All That. Matters – Ducky Tse Chi-Tak Solo Exhibition
27 January - 14 February
Ducky Tse Chi-tak will launch the first part of his solo photography exhibition All That. Matters at the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre. All That. Matters and All That. Doesn’t is a two-part exhibition about the revolving identities of Hong Kong people explored by lens-based artist Ducky Tse Chi-Tak over the last three decades, and a showcase of Ducky’s 30 years of personal experience and art practice. The first, All That. Matters, is an exhibition debut of Ducky’s Hong Kong Faces series from the 1990s, which articulates the restless perspective of a young street photographer, yearning to ‘reappear’ the faces and daily lives of Hong Kong people in colonial society that would otherwise be ‘disappeared’.
These two exhibitions will showcase his transformation of the ordinary practice of documentary photography to in-depth studies of individual and collective identities. The two exhibitions combine photography, videos, and installation works to reconstruct personal and collective memories and discourse who we are in the transition of time, with the pondering of the relationship between light and shadow and the transition of time and space. Ducky welcomes audiences to join an inspirational viewing journey with him.
The exhibition will be open from 1pm–8.30pm Monday to Friday and 11am–8.30pm on weekends.
Venue： Gallery L0, Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC)
