emmanuel f. in Sheung Wan is a super stylish ‘eco luxe’ hair salon that has the combination of pampering its clients and protecting the planet down pat. This leading Hong Kong fine eco-friendly and organic hair salon and spa opened its doors in 2008. The experienced team of stylists specialises in delivering beautiful hair while only using natural, organic and eco-friendly products.

As the salon’s clients will tell you, from the moment you step inside, you feel a sense of calm. Services include cut and styling, highlights and balayage, colours, and hair treatments.

Their pure and healthy natural products are also fantastic for mothers and mothers-to-be. To top it all off, this organic hair establishment is more than just a salon. There’s a gorgeous spa at the rear, and the services of both can cross over, meaning you can enjoy getting your
nails done, or a facial or massage while having your hair appointment. How cool is that?!

Fox and the Barber

With a fit-out that has quaint echoes of traditional English pubs and barber shops, Fox and the Barber is one of the hippest men’s hairdressers in Hong Kong. It’s loyal clientele will also tell you it’s one of the best.

Owners Sarah and Paul have built a strong following since they opened their doors in 2015, offering a sophisticated level of service to the urban gent. Expertly trained barbers provide high-quality grooming for men, with services including straight-razor shaves and haircuts.

They can also advise on restyles, as well as beard trims and shaping. Fox and the Barber also retails a wide range of men’s apothecary products, tools and accessories from abroad. They even use Italian brand Acqua di Parma’s Collezione Barbiere’s products for two signature beard grooming services. PS – they may just offer you a cheeky tipple during your visit!

The Strand

Hair and beauty concept salon The Strand offers transforming hairdressing and holistic treatments over five chic and contemporary floors in the heart of Central. The salon’s stylists and barbers start each treatment with a complimentary consultation, offering personalised care that extends post-treatment to after-care between visits. They also offer skincare and beauty and wellness treatments in their spa.

The Strand has a number of specialty services, including those offered by creative stylist Cynthia, an afro specialist who is experienced working with multi-textured hair. She also does afrotherapy for issues such as hair loss, scalp irritation and excess oil. They stock Paul Mitchell’s vibrant demi colours for glossy shades without chemicals in all the latest colours, as well as offering oil-rich hair and scalp rituals to revitalise hair and address scalp issues with René Furterer products.

Regular customers love the fourth-floor chill zone, which is used for longer hair treatments, as well as bespoke wedding preparations including up-dos, make-up and lash and brow styling, accompanied by a glass of bubbles and mani-pedi grooming. And the boys aren’t forgotten either, with The Strand for Men introducing a new barber in 2018!
